Terms:

Vaccinations

This term applies to all types of use of our premises including but not limited to paddock hire, events, shows, training sessions or other facility uses. Please ensure that your dog is up to date with vaccinations. We want to ensure the paddocks remain a safe environment, therefore any dog in your care whether owned by you or not must be flead, wormed and up to date with vaccinations; if you do not own the dog but attend with it, it is your duty to check everything is up to date prior to attending, you may be held liable for any spread of disease or infection caused by the dog(s) you have attended if they were the cause and no reasonable steps were taken.

You agree that your dog(s) vaccination is up to date (or titer tests) and agree that we may request proof of this at any time. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience, but due to concerns of human and animal safety, we are not able to make exceptions to the above requirements.

Use of the paddock

Owners hire and use the paddock for their own walk, at their own risk. Dogs must have appropriate insurance if using our facilities. We provide a safe enclosed and private space but of course cannot provide safety or guarantees against natural events such as viruses, injuries from play or falling etc as this is still and outdoor natural space. We can accept no liability for any illness, injuries or accidents to either the users of the paddock or their dogs. Whilst we endeavour to ensure escape is not achievable and hold daily risk assessments of the enclosure, we cannot be held liable for any dog escaping the paddock. Should this occur you must notify a member of staff immediately.

Toys are permitted to be used in the paddock at the owner’s or hirers own risk. Please ensure all items are removed at the end of the session if yours or put back in the toy box if you use ours.

The paddock is by appointment only and will give you exclusive use during your allotted time; there will be no other people or dogs inside the paddock other than those attending with you.

Any dog showing signs of ill health will not be permitted to use the paddock. Please cancel any session you have booked until your dog has recovered.

We cannot be held liable for any dogs fighting that have chosen to share a session i.e friends sharing.

Please note this is a natural field with a natural wooded area, the ground will have bumps and slopes and the woods are just like any on a public park with plants and uneven surfaces, they are likely from time to time have some nettles, possible thorns, tree roots or even berries and so forth, please wear suitable footwear and supervise your dog and be cautious when walking as not to trip.

Equipment

Fleurs Friendly Fields is not liable for any death, damage, injury or loss to any person or animal while using the facility or the equipment within it, or to any third party as a result of any person or dog.

The equipment is for canine use only. Before using the facility or the equipment within it for example agility jumps, visit the vet to ensure that dogs are physically fit and strong enough to perform activities. Be sure to supervise children as many agility items get broken due to children climbing/playing on them which could become a hazard for dogs as well as the children themselves.

Do not use equipment in wet or icy conditions as surfaces become slippery.

Dogs must never be picked up and placed on obstacles. When using equipment above ground level dogs must wear a harness so that they can be supported during the exercise.

Never push dogs to do anything that they are not physically or mentally capable of. Allow dogs to go at their own pace and always give them the option of not doing something.

Always start with small versions of skills practiced in a slow and controlled way with several repetitions. Shaping techniques (rewarding for each successive step that is closer to the final goal) are recommended.

Ensure dogs warm up properly with several repetitions of smaller, slower, simpler behaviors prior to working on the more complicated skills.

That said we will always work with you and help where possible so please contact us if you face any issues.

Change-overs

All dogs must be kept on leads if entering and leaving the paddock - though you are welcome to park on the parking space provided within the paddock.

Please be mindful that some dogs do not react well around other dogs so we advise that dogs should remain in vehicles until the previous user of the field has secured their dog in their vehicle.

Dogs must be retrieved and ready to leave the paddock at the end of the allotted session time. On leaving the paddock, please ensure that the gate is closed. Any owners that are unable to retrieve their dog must notify a member of staff.

Children

Any person under the age of 16 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times; we accept no liability for any damages of unsupervised children on site.

We actively encourage children to get involved in the fun side of training, however, dependent upon the training required i.e desensitizing your dog to other dogs, children may not be allowed to join should any aggression or injury be a possibility.

We cannot accept any liability for any damages or injury caused by your dog during training it is therefore requested you make the judgment of your child and dogs relationship prior to getting them involved. Please note we may still refuse your child's involvement if we have any concerns for their safety.

Dog waste

We will provide waste bins and poo bags free of charge, however, the free poo bags cannot always be guaranteed so we ask owners to bring their own poo bags should the free supply of poo bags run out. All waste must be collected by the owner prior to the end of the session. Should you leave regular waste behind we have a 3 warning policy that results in a ban from using our facilities. We want to provide and keep a safe clean space for everyone so please keep an eye on the pooches!

Training

It is currently our policy not to allow dogs that show aggression towards humans into training sessions but we are happy to signpost and support you.

Welfare and safety:

All dogs must be kept under the owner’s control and on a lead, except where specifically instructed by our instructors.

We provide a safe and secure environment as practicably reasonable and endeavour to apply good practices with all our training services. We endeavour to run all classes in as safe and professional manner as possible. Fleurs Friendly Fields also takes all reasonable precautions when providing behavioural services to minimise the risk of injury from being bitten. However remote, dog training is not without risk therefore participation in training and behaviour services is at the owner’s risk. Fleurs Friendly Fields or any of its individual assistants, or helpers, will not accept responsibility for any loss, injury or damage to any persons, or dogs attending a course, or to their property howsoever caused during the provision of dog training activities.

Owners are advised to have appropriate pet insurance cover that includes third party liability insurance. Fleurs Friendly Fieldshas public liability and relevant business insurance to run classes and provide behavioural counselling, providing adequate cover for our business liabilities.

Fleurs Friendly Fields Will not take responsibility for misinterpretation of advice. Whilst we hope you find the information and guidance given interesting and informative, the contents are for general information only. We believe the contents to be true and accurate as at the date of the session but can give no assurances or warranty regarding the accuracy, currency or applicability of any of the contents in relation to specific situations and particular circumstances. As such, the contents should not be relied upon and professional advice should be taken in specific cases. In addition, none of the content of the session will form any part of any contract between us or constitutes an offer by us. Specific disclaimers may apply in addition to certain content or parts of the session.

Children in class:

We encourage family members to attend training. Children are welcome and when encouraged to participate often make competent handlers. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Children are encouraged to behave appropriately in the presence of dogs and are requested not to run, or distract the dog from working. For safety reasons it is advisable all children are educated in how to approach a dog.

Young children may not find training classes exciting. It can be challenging to supervise young children while training a dog. Very young children can become bored and may need another adult to supervise them. If you provide your children with entertainment during a class, please ensure it is quiet and will not distract the training.

Behavioural consultations:

As we do not offer onsite training for aggressive behaviour, and it is typically one to one based we may not require a consultation with your dog (subject to the type of training required). However, we do request that prior to attending any booked training you contact us prior with your dogs details (name, age breed, sex and

1. Your concerns, for example, play biting or poor recall,

2. Your areas of training requested to be covered, for example, leash pulling, basic commands and recall,

3. A description of your dogs personality/lifestyle/homelife and

4. Any prior training tried formal or informal.

A behavioural consultation helps to identify the underlying motivation for any unwanted behaviour. A programme will be devised for your needs based on my behavioural diagnosis and specific to your requirements to help you manage and modify this behaviour. Behavioural issues are often complex having taken time to develop. Therefore before proceeding it is necessary that any potential underlying medical condition or potential cause of pain that could be contributing to your pet’s behaviour is ruled out.

After training:

You will receive a specifically devised programme. This will be forwarded to you within 7-10 working days along with any help sheets that you may require. Aftercare support is provided for 8 weeks regarding the specific problem either by telephone or email. You are encouraged to liaise with us after the visit for ongoing support.

It may be necessary for the more complex issues, such as anxiety, multiple behaviour problems or for where there are multi-dog households, that follow-up visits are required. Any follow-up visits, should they be required, will be charged accordingly and you will be advised in advance to the cost.

Disclaimer:

Animal aggression can cause injury, including fatal injury, to other animals and people. Treatment for aggression is not a guarantee of success and modifying behaviour does not assure that the aggression will be successfully controlled. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that their pet does not harm in the future. Precautions may involve, but are not limited to, keeping a dog on lead, the use of muzzle, informing others of the dog’s aggressive tendencies, not mixing with certain types of people or other dogs, or confinement behind fencing and doors. Owners remain responsible for their dogs at all times and are advised they have adequate pet or household insurance cover for liability in the unlikely event of damage or injury caused by their dog to property or to a third party. It is strongly recommended that your dog is insured for third party liability with or without vet cover.

It is also paramount owners understand that whilst we will use expert methods and support the owner, training is not always guaranteed for all dogs and for this reason the training is completed without a promised outcome. For example, one dog may learn sit in 10 minutes whilst it may take another dog 2 hours, each dog is individual and we will work with you to achieve your goals, but make it clear that by attending training you are not guaranteed the outcomes for each goal. It is also paramount that owners continue the advice and techniques shown to maintain the training.

Training Commitment: Fleurs Friendly Fields aims to work with you and your dog using reward based training methods. Our aim is to build on your relationship with your dog to create the best team. Each dog will have its own individual training plan that will be adjusted as and when required.

We reserve the right to change the content, timing, dates, or instructor. We try to avoid this as much as possible, but sometimes this is unavoidable, particularly with changes in the weather meaning we have to postpone a session (basic rain is no issue this is aimed more at extreme weathers).

If we know in advance that the weather will not be suitable we will let you know, however, often the weather can be very changeable from hour to hour. If a booking is canceled due to extreme weather, we will let everyone know who has booked by text, email or call as soon as we can at least an hour before the start of your session. We will then reschedule the booking to an alternative week or date.

Fleurs Friendly Fields will not be liable for any losses or expenses arising from amendments to the sessions or cancellations.

Course materials, where relevant, are usually supplied within 7 working days (after your session has been completed) via email. Follow up emails and course materials are supplied for your personal use and must not be copied or forwarded without permission under any circumstances.

Events and shows

Only dogs that have a reasonable level of training and obedience may enter our events as they are informal and fun more than competitive, no aggressive dogs can enter under any circumstances whether it be towards humans or other animals.

Whilst we will do everything possible to support and provide first aid on site, it is the hirers’ responsibility to alert emergency services in case of serious injury, whether for humans or dogs. If an injury is sustained on site it must be reported immediately so we can log it.

In order to use our facilities as part of your business, you must hold the correct business insurance and these can be requested from you at any time.

If any business activities are intended to be or actually carried out on our facilities you hereby release Fleurs Friendly Fields from any claim whatsoever and agree you have up to date valid insurance, you accept full liability for both any humans or animals duty of care and accept full responsibility for any damages howsoever caused.  You must ensure the facilities are suitable for your requirements and do your own risk assessment of any facilities for your use prior to carrying out your line of work (for example if you see a dog dig a hole during a class, ensure your customers are aware of the trip hazard, or if its snowing ensure customers have suitable footwear and so forth)

Website and social media

We may from time to time use images or videos where the attendees or dogs are included in the image for the likes of marketing, website or social media. Should you wish to not have certain people or dogs published, please inform us and we will ensure this does not occur. If you ever see an image you or your dogs are included in and wish it to be removed, please contact us and we will have this removed within 3 working days.

Whilst it is our policy to be able to take images of our facilities in use, we will where possible request permission out of courtesy.

For events or shows, we cannot guarantee you will not be included in published images or videos, by attending you accept to be included in videos and images. However, please notify us on your arrival if you do not wish to be included in these and whilst we cannot guarantee this we will try our best to edit and manage them to not include you.

GROOMING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By making a booking you confirm you have read and agree to the following:

Current Vaccinations/Veterinarian Information:

By using our services, owners verify their dogs are up to date with vaccinations for canine parvovirus, canine distemper virus, Leptospirosis and Infectious canine hepatitis. Proof of Vaccination shall be provided to Fleurs Friendly Fields on request as well as current Veterinarian information.

Health or Medical Problems & Senior Dogs:

Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful, especially for a senior dog or dog with health problems, and can expose hidden medical problems or aggravate a current one during or after the groom. In the best interest of your pet this contract/agreement will give Fleurs Friendly Fields permission to obtain immediate Veterinary treatment for your pet should it be deemed necessary by us.  We will do our best to contact you first, then take your pet to our authorised Veterinarian, or to the nearest Veterinarian that is available. It is agreed that all expenses for Veterinary care will be covered by the pet’s owner.

Time Keeping

Please be punctual, we work by appointment only and do not do rushed appointments so time keeping is key to our values, we pride ourselves on taking time and care with each dog. The appointment slot allocated for your pet's groom has been booked at your request exclusively and lateness 15 minutes or over may result in us not being able to complete the groom or full request i.e as an example, full style and bath may result in bath and hygiene trim if enough time is not left for the full styling due to lateness, no refunds can be requested due to lateness. You will receive a free Appointment reminder and we will try to contact you if late for your slot, you will also receive mini maps when booking and on your reminder.

Most grooms take between 1.5 - 3 hours or more depending on the size and temperament of the dog, and its coat condition. We will give you a pre-arranged time for collection for your booking, the email will detail the length of time allocated, we will also telephone/text you when your dog is ready. We understand that from time to time unforeseen circumstances may arise. However, late collection may require us to house your dog in a safe and comfortable crate. There will be a charge if you are more than 20 minutes late in collecting your dog as we will have to delay other grooms that were booked in that slot.

Cancelling:

A 24-hour cancellation notice is required for all appointments, cancellation within this time unfortunately means we cannot issue a refund as we would not have time to refill the slot. We cannot refund grooms not completed due to lateness as this is out of our hands.

Photographs:

Your pet may be photographed before, during or after its groom. Photographs may be used on the The Dog Den’s website or Social Media or other printed materials, please let us know in advance and in writing if you wish for your dog not to be photographed.

Fleas/Ticks:

Fleurs Friendly Fields strives to be a flea/tick-free salon. If your dog has a flea or tick infestation we will ask that you reschedule your grooming appointment once the flea or tick problem is under control. Dogs with a flea or tick infestation carry a risk of anaemia, infections, tapeworms and other health problems. We recommend that you contact your veterinarian for advice on the best treatment for your situation. A topical monthly flea preventative may be the most effective choice. Treating all pets in the family, as well as treating your home will help in keeping fleas and ticks under control for the long term. If fleas are found on your dog we will bathe your dog in a flea shampoo and have to treat the salon, this will incur a £10 charge on your grooming bill. If ticks are found an additional charge of £5 will be added for their removal.

Accidents:

There is always the possibility an accident could occur. Grooming equipment is sharp, even though we use extreme caution and care in all situations. Possible problems that could occur include cuts, nicks, scratches and quicking of the nails. In most cases this can happen when a dog is wiggling or moving around. We make every effort to ensure your dog is groomed as safely as possible, but if your dog does not accept the process it can be dangerous to continue the groom so in extreme cases if it poses a danger to continue we will suggest grooming desensitising before continuing to use sharp equipment.

Matted Coats:

Dogs with severely matted coats need extra attention. Mats in a dogs coat grow tight, and can strangle the dogs skin, or eventually tear it open. Fleurs Friendly Fields will not cause serious or undue stress to your dog by de-matting for more than 15 minutes as specified by the Animal Welfare Act 2006. Mats can be very difficult to remove, and may require the pet to be shaved, you agree to this should your pet require it under the above Act. When necessary, removing a heavily matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts or abrasions due to warts, moles or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the dogs skin allowing mould, fungus or bacteria to grow, causing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process. Torn skin from mats can even harbour maggots. After effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions and failure of the hair to regrow. Shaved dogs are also prone to sunburn and should either have sunscreen applied daily or should be kept out of the sun until the hair grows sufficiently to protect the skin. In some cases dogs may also exhibit brief behavioural changes. Prevention is the best defence against matting by scheduling regular grooming appointments. If your dog needs to be shaved to remove matting, you acknowledge that you agree to this procedure, and any risk.

Aggressive or Dangerous Dogs:

Owners MUST inform us if your dog bites, has bitten or is aggressive to people, other pets or specific grooming procedures. I reserve the right to refuse or stop services of your dog at any time before or during the grooming process. If your dog should bite the owner agrees to be responsible for any and all related medical bills, recovery costs, loss of income and equipment damage.

Hold Harmless Agreement:

By using our services you agree to hold Fleurs Friendly Fields it’s owners, employees and directors harmless from any damage, loss, or claim arising from any condition of the undersigned dog, either known or unknown to us. It is also further understood and agreed the terms of this agreement can change at any time, without notice, and will overwrite any and all prior signed contracts or releases. It is further understood this clause applies to any and all dogs groomed.
